This Privacy Statement is effective July 20, 2020.

Content on this webpage (the “Webpage”) has been posted by a law enforcement agency (“the LEA”) for the purpose of distributing a missing persons poster online. The LEA has used a template provided by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection Inc. (the “C3P”) to generate this Webpage. C3P is a charitable organization dedicated to the personal safety of all children. The goal of C3P is to reduce child victimization by providing programs and services to the public.

Federal privacy legislation in Canada, namely the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applies to personal information that is collected, used and disclosed in the course of commercial activities. The Webpage is not operated in the course of commercial activities; is not operated for commercial purposes; and the C3P does not collect any personal information on the Webpage. Should you contact the LEA who created the Webpage, your information will be collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with the privacy policies of that LEA.

All information about a missing person on this Webpage is collected and distributed by the LEA. C3P only has access to the information in its capacity of hosting the Webpage and only for the purpose of making a tool available for the LEA to generate a missing persons poster on the Webpage. No information is collected, used, or distributed directly by C3P. If any information is incorrect or has been collected and distributed in error, contact the LEA who generated the Webpage on the number provided for the LEA on the Webpage.

Definition of Personal Information:

Personal information is any identifiable information about an individual, including: name, email address, mailing address, and telephone/fax number. Personal information does not include aggregated information that cannot be associated with a specific individual. Note that PIPEDA does not apply to business contact information such as an employee’s name, title, business address, business telephone number, or business email address that is collected, used or disclosed solely for the purpose of communicating or facilitating communication with that person in relation to their employment or profession.
